Tara Nemeth's two passions are people and pets. Tara grew up watching her entrepreneurial mother, Lane Nemeth, lead Discovery Toys, the child learning and development toy company Lane founded and built to over $100,000,000 in sales. Tara shared her mother's commitment to helping children and set her sights on a career in family therapy. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University, she earned a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Oregon. In the process she worked as a preschool teacher and a clinician focusing on early intervention for children with Autism.
During Tara's studies, she and her mother, who had sold Discovery Toys in 1997, frequently discussed projects that combined their mutual interests. From these conversations, Petlane was born in 2004.
"Petlane is about enriching lives," says Tara. "We focus on products that enrich the lives of pets and the people they love, and, in the process, help our dedicated Pet Advisors to reach their goals and live their dreams." |
